Falk, Schuler, and Ewen Ask Manitobans to Vote St. Adolphe for Kraft Hockeyville
[:en]St. Adolphe, MB – Ted Falk, MP for Provencher, Ron Schuler, MLA for Springfield-Ritchot, and Chris Ewen, Mayor of Ritchot, are calling on Manitobans to pull together to support St. Adolphe’s bid to be proclaimed Canada’s Kraft Hockeyville.
On March 20, St. Adolphe was announced on Hockey Night in Canada as one of the top four communities in the bid to become the next Kraft Hockeyville. The Kraft Hockeyville 2021 grand prize would see St. Adolphe awarded with $250,000 and the opportunity to host an NHL pre-season game.
Earlier this year, St. Adolphe Arena’s ice plant failed, making major repairs inevitable. Originally constructed in the late 80s, there is also a need to fix a wall with significant mould damage and begin the process of expanding the facility’s dressing rooms to accommodate the growing female hockey program. Securing the $250,000 grand prize would go a long way to restoring this important community hub.
“Hockey is a shared passion that connects our communities in southeast Manitoba,” said Falk. “I want to congratulate the passionate volunteers who hustled to get St. Adolphe into the top four. Now we need Team Manitoba to come together to put the puck in the net.”

If selected, St. Adolphe would be the first-ever Manitoba community to win the prize. Falk, Schuler, and Ewen encourage all Manitobans to vote St. Adolphe beginning April 9 at 8:00 AM until April 10 at 4:00 PM. Le 20 mars dernier, lors de l’émission Hockey Night in Canada, on a annoncé que Saint-Adolphe figurait parmi les quatre collectivités finalistes du concours Kraft Hockeyville. Si la municipalité de Saint-Adolphe remporte le grand prix Kraft Hockeyville 2021, elle recevra 250 000 $ et aura la chance d’accueillir un match préparatoire de la LNH.
L’aréna de Saint-Adolphe, construit à la fin des années 1980, nécessite des travaux majeurs : plus tôt cette année, son système de réfrigération a cessé de fonctionner. Il faut également réparer un mur qui a été gravement endommagé par la moisissure et agrandir les vestiaires afin de répondre aux besoins du programme de hockey féminin, en plein essor. Le grand prix de 250 000 $ donnerait le coup de pouce nécessaire pour restaurer cet important pôle communautaire.
