Harper Government Invests in Improvements to Southeastern Manitoba’s Community Infrastructure

Today, Ted Falk, Member of Parliament for Provencher, on behalf of the Honourable Michelle Rempel, Minister of State for Western Economic Diversification, announced support of $456,334 for thirteen projects under the Government of Canada’s Canada 150 Community Infrastructure Program.
In Economic Action Plan 2015, the Government of Canada announced further support for communities with the Canada 150 Community Infrastructure Program. Thanks to a commitment of $150 million, communities from coast to coast to coast will see support for improvements to local infrastructure, creating a lasting legacy as Canada prepares to celebrate the 150th anniversary of Confederation in 2017.
The Canada 150 Community Infrastructure Program will help fund renovations, expansions and rehabilitations to existing infrastructure that provides community and cultural benefits for the public. The Program represents one of several infrastructure-related initiatives that the Government of Canada has undertaken to generate well-being and prosperity across Canada.

Dans le Plan d’action économique de 2015, le gouvernement du Canada a annoncé un soutien supplémentaire pour les collectivités par l’intermédiaire du Programme d’infrastructure communautaire de Canada 150. Grâce à un engagement total de 150 millions de dollars, des collectivités de l’ensemble du pays recevront de l’aide pour améliorer leur infrastructure locale, créant ainsi un héritage durable au moment où le Canada se prépare à fêter le 150e anniversaire de la Confédération, en 2017.
Le Programme d’infrastructure communautaire de Canada 150 aidera à financer la rénovation, l’agrandissement et la remise en état d’infrastructures existantes qui procurent des avantages communautaires et culturels à la population. Le Programme fait partie de plusieurs initiatives consacrées à l’infrastructure qui ont été lancées par le gouvernement du Canada pour favoriser le bien-être et la prospérité dans l’ensemble du Canada.
